In today’s article, we’re going to be covering keys. We already discussed about the master key system in a different session. So today, we will discuss key fobs.
What is a Key Fob?
Key fobs are the little things that can get you into a building. Instead of using actual keys, you can press them in front of a little section of the door, and they will open and lock. However, because of their size, they are very easy to lose. In addition, there are little batteries inside of them that can go bad.
What are the problems with Key Fob?
In most buildings, the condo association management companies will be in control of the key fobs. They can charge up to $50-$70 for that. We have seen some being charged $100 with these before.
We got tired of actually having to ask them for it, having to pick it up, and tenants lose it. We also need to have multiple sets in our office, and it just gets very costly for us, as both landlords and property managers.
How did we make it more convenient and efficient?
We are always thinking of different ways to be able to save you more money. We also purchased a key fob copier that produces a code. When we have that code, we can already put that into our system. All we need are blank keys, which we purchase in multiple quantity in advance.
Afterward, we type in the code, reprogram the key fobs, and then we’re all set! It should work for the majority of key fobs, so it’s nice for us to be able to control that in a much more cost-effective manner.
If you or anyone else you know is looking for a property manager that is technology advanced, forward thinking and always trying to find ways to be more efficient and more cost effective for you, please think of Green Ocean Property Management, you get more than a property manager, you get peace of mind.
