Property managers use Buildium to organize property records and day-to-day work. Rental owners use a separate portal to review information their manager shares with them. Available tools and permissions depend on the account. See Buildium’s current feature overview for product details.
Getting started as a Green Ocean rental owner
- Use the invitation and sign-in instructions provided by Green Ocean. If you have not received access, contact our team.
- Sign in through our owner portal page.
- Review the property, reporting period and information available in your account.
- Contact your property manager about missing documents or a transaction you do not recognize.
The video and screenshots show an earlier interface. Menu names and available options may differ from your current account. Follow your manager’s instructions and Buildium’s owner portal guidance.
Review financial information
In the walkthrough, the Rental Owner section leads to Financials. Check the property and date range before reading a statement.
The rental owner ledger shows recorded transactions and owner transfers. Compare the entries with your statement and bank records. Ask your manager to explain any difference rather than assuming a recorded payment has already cleared.
Find shared documents
The Documents area contains records your manager has made available, such as statements or leases. If a document is missing or you need a different reporting period, request it from the team.
Read property reports
The walkthrough shows reports such as income and expenses, budget comparisons and balance sheets. Check what each report covers before comparing it with another period.
The example below shows income and expenses for a sample property. Your own account will reflect your property’s records and the access your manager provides.
Owner access versus software administration
Viewing an owner statement is different from setting up a property management company’s books. Owners following this walkthrough do not need to create properties, enter opening balances, configure screening or change user permissions. Managers setting up software should use Buildium’s current support materials and review accounting and access settings with the appropriate professionals.
