Becoming a licensed home inspector means putting in the hours to get certified. But even if it means more work, I also get to be more qualified as a property manager.
Today, I’m sharing with you why I also got a home inspector certification.
Becoming a Licensed Home Inspector
A home inspector course actually requires a significant amount of hours. It involves eighty hours in the classroom and twenty-five shadowed home inspections.
Those shadowed home inspections can also last anywhere between two to three hours.
Now, why is that important for you, a property owner, to have a licensed home inspector as your property manager?
Well, think about it. Your property manager takes care of your property. Other property managers don’t have the vast knowledge that a home inspector has.
As a home inspector, you can make $500-$1,000 to walk through and inspect someone’s home.
The Important Role of Licensed Home Inspectors
Some people, especially in today’s market, are doing no contingencies and no home inspections. They are buying properties sight unseen. They end up hiring a property management company to take care of it.
Now, suppose you have a property manager sitting behind the desk and don’t know anything about your property, the condition of what needs to be done, or what to look out for. In that case, you can run into some serious liabilities and issues.
At the end of the day, it takes a different level to take care of properties the way they should be done. Licensed home inspectors, especially in the state of Massachusetts, can tell you what’s going on with your property.
We can give you a different understanding of what can be done and what should be looked out for.
By being a property manager who is also a licensed home inspector, I can provide you and your residents peace of mind by ensuring your property is in great condition to live in. Because this is one of the most expensive investments that you have, you should have the right and qualified people to take care of it.
