Staying Warm with Space Heaters

Winter in Boston can be very brutal. And even if your heating systems are in place, it may not be warm enough for all your residents. Good thing we have these space heaters to keep your units warm even when it’s is freezing cold outside.

When Heat Is Not Working

Boston winters can get especially cold. That means the most common problems in your property during winter can be frozen pipes or no heat.

Heating systems are just trying to keep up with the cold. However, residents are complaining about not having the right temperature. It’s important for you to know that during this time, your heating systems work perfectly but they are undersized.

Even if they can keep up and endure normal temperatures of forty or fifty degrees, it’s fine. But when it gets really cold or windy, the temperature drops within your units, and your tenants start complaining.

Our Quick Fix

When tenants start complaining, they stop paying–and that is the last thing that you want. We try to make the boilers a little bit more efficient, but sometimes, it’s just really tough. So we drop off space heaters.

In addition, we are going to walk through that property and make sure that they have all of the furniture off of those baseboards because it needs to have a little bit better air circulation within it. We will also cover the windows with plastic sheeting made specifically to help with draftiness.

Overall, we are just going to do everything we can to help out your residents and keep them happy. And if your residents are happy, that means that they are going to be paying that rent and you are going to be happy as a landlord.

Our commitment

If you’re looking for a proactive property manager to help you through the bitter cold with your residents and your properties, and to be able to go above and beyond, and have things like space heaters in stock–and we have over forty of them in our warehouse–please think of Green Ocean Property Management: where you get more than a property manager, you get peace of mind.
